Welcome to our HEDGEHOGS AVAILABLE web page. This page is designed to
highlight some of the hedgies that we have available for sale at the current time.

Originally we designed this page to showcase some of our PINTO COLOR patterns.

is well known in the hedgehog community for our exceptionally flashy

and well-marked PINTO HEDGEHOGS. Like pinto horses, each animal is
slightly different and unique. By using this page to post the pictures of some
of our PINTO "kids", we felt that our customers would have a better idea of
what marvelous color patterns are available.

Now that this page is available, we have decided to use it to post pictures of
other animals that we currently have in stock also. Check back often, as the
pictures and listings on this page will be constantly changing.

ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.

We will make every effort to keep the postings on this page current. However, since we
have full time jobs in addition to the hedgehog care responsibilities, it is
IMPORTANT THAT YOU CALL to confirm the availability of animals listed on this page.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR HEDGEHOGS FOR SALE
IN ILLINOIS? OR HEDGEHOGS FOR SALE IN CHICAGO???
PLEASE NOTE:
1) Most of our hedgehogs are sold locally.
2) When sold locally, they are generally
between 7-9 weeks of age.
3) If you are out of the area, and will need for us to ship your hedgie via the airlines, we will not ship them until they are 8-10 weeks
(due to the additional stress).
So keep in mind that your wait time will be a tad longer than if you
are willing to drive to the Chicago suburbs to pick him up.
4) We sell our baby hedgehogs to
PET HOMES ONLY.
(Please no breeder or dealer calls).

The birds are all nesting, the flowers have begun to bloom, and SPRING has sprung here in Chicago. We
realize that 2012 is whizzing by WAAAY too
quickly for us and the quilled kids!!!!

We appologize for not being able to keep fresh
faces of our little buddies posted on this page in recent weeks. Quite frankly, all of our baby hedgehogs have been pre-sold to folks on our WAITING LIST throughout the
DREARY LATE WINTER - EARLY SPRING SEASON .
Our 18 years of raising wonderful little hedgies
and the customer referals that come with our reputation, have meant that we have not had
many animals to showcase on this page in awhile.

The good news is that most of our customers
who had to patiently wait during the slow Winter breeding season for their SPECIAL HEDGEHOG BUDDY, have already begun to bond with their
new hedgie!!!

Here at HEDGEHOGS by Vickie we are
continuously endeavoring to match up
individual baby hedgies with families that are
the right fit for each other.

If this sounds like that might be you, we
encourage you to contact us as soon possible
to be placed on our WAITING LIST.

Please realize that the length of time that you
will have to wait for your new baby hedgehog
will be minimized if you are open to a variety
of quill colors, eye colors, sexes, and price ranges. The more versatile you are, the shorter your wait!
We suggest that you spend some time on our COLORS PAGE and determine which hedgehog colors would be appealing to you. We encourage
you to contact us as soon as possible to be
placed on our WAITING LIST or for more
information.
We are always eager to "talk hedgehogs"
and we will be happy to answer all of your
questions regarding upcoming availability.

Currently, our average waiting time is
4-6 weeks.
(Although a few lucky folks have had animals available sooner!!!)

The common Standard color hedgehogs
generally have the longest wait.

Since WE are more fascinated with the fancier colored animals, that is what we tend to produce more of. And we like to mix up our pairings so
that we have a few animals of a variety of colors being born at any given time.

Although we breed hedgies year round, SPRING
is the beginning of the normal breeding season
for hedgehogs. We always get excited this time
of year! The number of litters being born becomes more abundant in SPRING TIME. New litters born recently confirm that 2012 is staring out to be a
great year!
In past years, customers who were somewhat paticular as to their requirements regarding
EYE COLOR, QUILL COLOR, SEX,
and/or PRICE RANGE were wise to add their name
to our WAITING LIST as early as possible in the
tratitional SPRING breeding season.

For those of you who watch this page regularly,
we are constantly in the process of weaning
more wonderful spikey babies.

As I write this, we have more youngsters in the
nest box that will be available for purchase in
coming weeks.
